Privacy policy

Draft. This is a working draft that lists what SeedRank actually collects. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and will be replaced before the app launches.

What we collect

If you use the app

  • Your Sign in with Apple identifier and email (often a private relay address Apple creates for you).
  • Your username and display name, and optionally a bio, photo, and personal links.
  • Your birth year only, to apply the age rules. Never your full birth date.
  • Your game activity: Seeds balance, backs and sells, hype, reports, and blocks.
  • The version of the terms you accepted and when.
  • Fraud signals from Apple (whether Apple thinks the account is a real person, and a device check). We store a hash, not the device token.

If you use the website

  • Your email, if you join the waitlist or send us a message, plus what you write to us.
  • If you remove a company, the work email or proof method you use.
  • A one-way keyed hash of your IP address when you submit a form, kept for at most one day to stop abuse. We never store your raw IP address.

We don't collect passwords, phone numbers, addresses, precise location, or contacts. There are no ads and no tracking cookies.

What is public

Your username, display name, and your activity in aggregate (for example, a startup's number of backers, and leaderboard ranks). Adults can choose to make a founder profile public. Profiles of players under 18 are never public; their name appears as a first name only on their startup's team.

Who we share data with

Only the services that run SeedRank:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in, and storage (United States).
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple and device checks.
  • Netlify: website hosting.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection on web forms.
  • OpenAI: checks profile and startup text and images for abuse before they are published.
  • Resend: sends verification codes by email.
  • Google Web Risk, RDAP registries, Cloudflare DNS, GitHub, Apple App Store lookup: check startup websites, domains, repositories, and apps when they are listed.

We don't sell your data.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app at any time. This deletes your personal data. Your past backs stay in the price history without your name attached. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's account through the contact page. To leave the waitlist, contact us.
